West Midlands Fire Service Becomes First UK Fire and Rescue Service to Move to Oracle Cloud

The UK’s second largest fire and rescue service embarks on a digital transformation project with Namos Solutions that will see its Finance and HR operations move to Oracle Cloud – making it the first fire service in the UK to move to the Oracle Cloud platform.

(London, UK) 22nd June 2021 – Namos Solutions, a leading Systems Integrator and Managed Service provider of Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Cloud Applications, has today announced that it has been appointed by West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) to implement Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning Management (ERPM), Human Capital Management (HCM) and Payroll, complementing the services it delivers to 2.9 million people in the West Midlands.

The second largest fire and rescue service in England, after the London Fire Brigade, WMFS operates 38 fire stations. It  employs 1,400 firefighters and uniformed personnel and some 500 fire control and non-uniform staff. It works to ‘Make the West Midlands safer, stronger and healthier’ through deliver of its prevention, protection and response services 

WMFS’s focus on digital transformation is key to smarter and more efficient delivery its services without compromising the safety of the public, its staff or performance.

Keen to ensure a smooth and successful transition to the Cloud, WMFS engaged with Oracle’s key implementation partner, Namos Solutions  not only to understand how to get the most out of the solution they were investing in, but who had the demonstrable expertise to ensure a successful rapid-deployment implementation.

The Oracle Cloud platform will provide a wide range of benefits to the fire service. The Strategic Workforce Planning solution, part of the Oracle HCM Cloud suite, will support workforce planning in support of strategic objectives.  The solution will also provide flexible and remote access to allow staff to work wherever they want or need to be.
