University of Greenwich Transforms Finance Operations with Oracle Cloud ERP & EPM

University continues to invest in the latest Oracle Cloud innovations in order to improve efficiency and transparency in the use of its financial data

London, (UK) 30th June 2022 – Namos Solutions, a leading Systems Integrator and Managed Service provider of Oracle Cloud Applications, today announced that the University of Greenwich has successfully gone live on Oracle Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Oracle Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), transforming how the university systemises its finance and procurement processes and showing further commitment to delivering best in class back-office software to support students and the administration of the university.

Founded in 1890, The University of Greenwich has two London-based campuses and one at Medway in Kent. According to the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, the university is the best modern university in London for graduate prospects.

The university’s previous financial management system, which was put in place over 20 years ago, was somewhat disjointed with multiple platforms and little integration. Following an in-depth review of its financial management systems environment, the decision was made to find a centralised platform for reporting supplier, customer, and accounting data, that would eliminate the need to create a large number of access databases and excel spreadsheets in order to create consolidated reporting.

After implementing Oracle Cloud HCM in 2020, the next logical step in the university’s digital transformation journey was to implement Oracle Cloud ERP and EPM.  The new, modern system will instil greater confidence and trust in the university’s financial data and will serve as the foundation for insight and analysis to ensure the university’s long-term financial sustainability.

Prof Jane Harrington, Vice Chancellor at the University of Greenwich commented, “I know that everyone involved; from the project team, the subject experts, to the many staff in our directorates and in our faculties, have all really pulled together. This really is Greenwich absolutely at its best – a genuine team effort, all supporting each other to achieve amazing things.  I can’t thank you enough and massive congratulations to all of you.”

Louise Watson, Chief Finance Officer at the university said, “I am delighted that we were able to press the go live button last week. It was a one team approach across Namos and University of Greenwich and huge thanks to everyone on the project team. This will be transformational for the Finance and Procurement team as we move to a modern cloud based system. A critical enabler to achieving the University’s ambitious This is Our Time 2030 Strategy. Thank you to all involved and well done.”

Paul Butler, Director of Information and Library Services commented, “We are delighted that the full Oracle Cloud ERP is now live and looking forward to the transformation it will bring. Brilliant example of partnership working across the university with Namos. Congratulations all round!”

“The University of Greenwich is without a doubt leading the way in the HE sector,” said Jerry Seager, Chief Operating Officer at Namos. With a single integrated cloud platform for managing its financial, planning, and human resources data, the university is an excellent position to respond more effectively to changing global talent demands.”
