Namos Solutions, a leading Systems Integrator and Managed Service provider of Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Cloud Applications, has today announced that its client, the University of Greenwich made a successful first submission of its Staff return to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) ahead of schedule, using innovative technology developed by Namos.
HESA is the official agency for the collection, analysis and dissemination of quantitative information about higher education in the UK. Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are required by law to submit data on students, staff and finance annually to HESA. The data collected through HESA return is used in the formulation of funding, performance indicators, and league tables.
HEI’s are required to provide one annual return at the end of each year, taking a considerable amount of time and effort to collate and correct data retrospectively. Recognising the challenges that institutions face performing this painstaking task, Namos developed the revolutionary tool that enables a significantly faster and easier return of accurate staff data to HESA. The University of Greenwich is the first in the UK to adopt this exciting new technology.
In spite of this being the University’s first HESA return since their recent Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud implementation and despite the need for data from their previous HR system and a collaborating HEI, the Namos application seamlessly collated, modelled, validated and extracted all the necessary data in the HESA compliant format within minutes, saving the university days if not weeks of manual work.
The application is built and deployed on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure so benefits from the same secure, scalable infrastructure that supports their industry leading Oracle HCM application. Furthermore, the application is seamlessly embedded into HCM meaning the full end-to-end HESA process benefits from the same look, feel and security.
The app is only one part of a larger ‘Higher Education Pack’ that also includes solutions for Teacher’s Pension Scheme (TPS) and USS Pensions. These solutions are possible owing to a marriage of Namos subject matter expertise and Oracle technology acumen. All the solutions are designed to drive time and effort efficiencies (but not accuracy); in the case of TPS, Namos provide a single report solution that spares the University from collating multiple reports and manually calculating concurrent values in spreadsheets.
Joshua Kidd, HRIS Project Officer at University of Greenwich said, “A huge thank you to Namos for providing the app and their consultancy. The easy to use interface gives transparency and accessibility to HESA data. The app has saved hours of waiting for system processes to run and days if not weeks of collating and cleansing data.”
Richard Clayton, HE Lead at Namos Solutions said, “What a fantastic achievement for the University of Greenwich who continue to capitalise on their cloud investment. This achievement is further evidence as to why Namos are seen as the natural choice for an Oracle partner in HE. It also demonstrates why increasing numbers of Universities are looking to Oracle to enable their digital strategies.”
