This is the second instalment of an article which follows Staffordshire University’s journey to the cloud. In the first instalment we got as far as preparing for UAT. In this instalment we discuss the intricacies of the UAT process, cutover planning and execution and building the production environment. We also provide an insight in to some of the common and not so common issues encountered around the go live date. This will include data migration and standards for security ciphers. The University achieved go live successfully and now has a system which will provide a good basis for providing high quality services to external and internal customers. This will include an increasing level of automation. There has been a successful handover to the Namos Managed Services team who continue to support the University in the cloud with their current system.
