FM Conway Embarks on ERP System Upgrade with Namos Solutions

Leading infrastructure company upgrades to latest version of Oracle E-Business Suite giving them greater visibility, better inventory management and lower operational costs

London, (UK) 10th September 2021– Namos Solutions, a leading Systems Integrator and Managed Service provider of Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Cloud Applications, has today announced that it has been chosen by leading infrastructure company, FM Conway, to upgrade their existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Oracle E-Business Suite version R12.1.3 to Oracle’s latest version, R12.2.

FM Conway is a forward-thinking, innovative, family business delivering infrastructure services to support, develop and maintain the UK’s vital transport networks, built environment, and open spaces. With Oracle ceasing Premier Support at the end of 2021, there was a fast-approaching need for the company to upgrade to R12.2 (either on-premises or cloud infrastructure) or stay on R12.1 and pay a premium for support. The company enlisted the help and expertise of Namos to not only fully understand the potential upgrade paths available to them, but to analyse the associated costs, risks, and potential rewards to justify an upgrade effort.

With the existing ERP platform having been customised to fit the business, FM Conway was also keen to understand what any new upgrade could offer that would help to reduce the number of existing custom extensions in play, also known as CEMLIs (Configurations/Customisation, Extension, Modification, Localisation and Internationalisation, and Integration).

Upon presentation of the upgrade evaluation, the business chose the upgrade path that was right for them which was to move to the latest version of Oracle E-Business Suite. This will not only allow FM Conway to remain compliant with more cyber security measures in place but will also see the introduction of numerous positive changes to the business including a modern user experience, new functionality advancements, customised business processes, continuous innovation and increased performance.
